Will I get my refund?

(Andrew Harnik/AP)

It's day 18 of the government shut down, and I've been on pins and needles about tax season. The majority of the IRS has been furloughed and specific tax issues have had to sit on the back-burner for weeks. Although we've been here before (I'm looking at you, Obamacare), the accountant in me despises the uncertainty of this situation. Which is why I was so pleased last night to see that the IRS announced that it will bring back some of it's furloughed staff to process tax returns and, more specifically, issue refunds. As your accountant, you can rest easy knowing that I'm worrying about these things for you.

Which reminds me: my tax season office hours are posted. I'm here Tuesday & Thursday 9am - 6pm. As always, I'm available by appointment any other day. I can't wait to see you.
